In a recent milestone event, the EATTA Board convened with key stakeholders in Tanzania's thriving tea sector. The meeting included representatives from the ministry of Agriculture, the Tea Board of Tanzania, Tea Association of Tanzania, and Tanzania Smallholders Tea Development Agency.
Distinguished figures such as the Tanzania Minister of agriculture Hon. Hussein Mohamed Bashe, Mr. Arthur Sewe, Chairman of the East African Tea Trade Association, Mr. Theophord C. Ndunguru, Chairman of the Tanzania Smallholders Tea Development Agency, and Ms. Mary Kipeya, Director General of the Tea Board of Tanzania, were present.
The focal point of this 2 day gathering was to explore avenues for strengthening cross-border partnerships in the tea industry. Discussions also centered around strategies to enhance the capacity of Tanzania's tea sector and engage governmental support for its sustainable growth.
This collaborative initiative marks a significant step towards fostering mutual cooperation and progress in the tea industry between the East African region and Tanzania.
